Diegetic and non-diegetic sounds

Diegetic and Non-Diegtic sounds in opening scenes Diegetic and Non-Diegetic are both used often in film often as they are both effective way of intriguing viewers in. Diegetic sound is the sound that can be heard by the cast as well as the audience. While Non-Diegetic sound can only be heard by the audience. Diegetic sound makes the viewer feel more intense. Diegetic sounds are often thought to be realistic, such as fight scenes in a movie when the character as well as the viewers can interpret the different sounds. The sound of the busy high street for example when a character walks down it you hear the cars driving by the business of the street it makes you feel like you are in the street with the character to make you feel closer to the character even if you have only just met them. Non-Diegetic sound can be just as effective to bring in the audience in one of the best examples of this is the music in jaw the tense music before jaws strikes makes the film

Using the Mac as a prop and as hardware

Similar to many parts of equipment we used the Mac for a prop as well as for the recording it linked up to another prop/recording equipment the microphone the blue yeti which was discussed in another post. The mac also suits the stereotype of a interview as this is often seen in actual interviews and crime drama interviews. This was good for us as we had a mac available and worked easily as a device to process and store the voice in a digital format.

Question 4- Who would be the audience for your media product?

The kind of person i would target is predominantly male this will go from the ages 13 from anything up to 40. We choose to target this audience as it is wide so it attracts lots of people as this bracket is the age of people who watch films. The personality will be the stereotype of the normal person "the average Joe" as it is described this person earns the average wage some above average some would be in the C2 category. The people who will watch this film will most likely be into crime genre such as Sherlock and Elementary so people into these shows will be definitely be attracted to watch this film. This show is also with the British public as this doesn't have certain items that most crime dramas in America have such guns.
