There are many different kinds of stereotypes in a horror film there are 3 main stereotypes in horror films.
The first of these stereotypes in the non believer this person is normally a Atheist they are normally annoying and deny everything that is pointing to a sign of ghosts. They will say such lines as "There is a scientific reason for that" "There is no such thing as ghosts" and normally there last line of the film "Watch nothing will happen". At this point the non believer is dead and the killing spree starts.
Another stereotype is the Blonde this is a female character normally the most attractive she is the least intelligent. The Blonde is the person who loves to point out the obvious with no common sense in anything she says. Her voice will annoy viewers up to the point where they will be glad of her gruesome death that will eventually come after the rest of the group can no longer save her. When left by herself she is useless and will just scream doing a slow pointless crawl away from the "Bad Guy".
The next stereotype is the Jock usually in a relationship with the Blonde he will be tall and well built with slightly more intelligence than the Blonde but not far in front. He will also be on a big sports team normally American football but sometimes Basketball. Most people will look to him at the start of the film for leadership before quickly realising that he one of the worst people to follow as he will eventually have a mental break down when the blonde dies and try and take on the villain by himself and never return to the rest of the group.
The old one he's a normal stereotypes that last until the last third of the film if the film is a sequel this character will be someone from the original film forced to relive the nightmare. This character can be between the age of 35-50. He will not be listened to by the rest of the group as they keep there distance from him as they sometimes will see him as weird. They will eventually come to him near them end of the film when they realise he is the only one that knows what is going and may give them advice to save them out of one or two situations.
